When one thinks of Jamaica, it is impossible not to remember the legendary Reggae artist whose only mission and purpose in life was to spread peace through his voice: Bob Marley. And what better way to remember his struggle and achievements than by visiting the most significant landmark associated with the late legend himself.

The late star’s former house in Kingston has now been converted into the Bob Marley Museum. His bedroom and recording studio are preserved as they were used by the singer in his lifetime. Furthermore, many of his personal artifacts are also kept well preserved within the museum. It is indeed a befitting shrine for one of the most important personalities of Jamaica.

At the Bob Marley Museum, visitors not only get to learn about the life and legend of Bob Marley but also of reggae music and how Bob Marley affected it, making it a package for any tourist aspiring to learn of Bob Marley, reggae and Jamaica simply cannot miss.

Another landmark worthy of visiting in Jamaica would be the famed Devon House in St. Andrew, the former residence of Jamaica’s first black millionaire: George Stiebel. Stiebel worked throughout his life in Venezuela and returned to live in Devon House in Jamaica, which has now become a National Heritage Site.  Built during the 19th century, this mansion will give you a glimpse into how the elite lived back then. In fact, it retains its original furnishings and architecture, making it a must-visit destination for architectural and history buffs. This is one location that must be on the bucket list of any tourist visiting Jamaica. Indeed, both of these historic landmarks collectively preserve the very essence of Jamaica.
